Boy it has been awhile, so much has happened let me catch you up to date. I recently changed my background to a patchwork theme. The reason for this is that a quilt made up of patchwork tends to tell a story. A story about someones life, history, however usually a meaning. I have two quilts w/Cora's Birthday on it as well as one of our Wedding date. Now to me there are two very special dates that happened to me in my life time and were given to me by a special friend during my lifetime.
Now, so much has happened in my life and I would like to share a few of those things.
First patch: My parents. They are the most awesome parents a child could have. As I am finding out being a parent is tough, I can't imagine how my parents did it w/4 kids and work full time! There are ups & downs- which they have experienced a down. My Dad was let go of West Texas Gas (Propane); Mom had to change locations and open up her own beauty salon (TANGLES- love the name). Now of course we thought it was the end of the world but my parents being the awesome people they are, simply looked at the positive side of these changes and moved on and guess what? They haven't even skipped a beat!!! Mom got her own place, Dad got on w/Quanah Gas & Oil. So changes might be tough and something u made not ask for but there is a reason for it.
Second patch: Botos. WOW... an amazing man. He loves me, his kids, his family (mom, brother), his job, his players, his life! He is such a go-getter, when he has a plan or idea to get something done, there is no waiting...it gets done right then and there. Very goal-oriented. An awesome role-model!!! Not only is he a father to his own kids but to his players, u talk about amazing!!! I love this man and I know he is loved by many others. Botos-I am glad that we are able to make our own quilt w/our own patches; which someday if ever quilted it will be a HUGE QUILT!!!!
Third Patch: Cora & Jantz. Little turds but the joy of my life! Cora Lee is so dramatic, a Valley girl (according to Aunt BB). She reminds me so much of my mother, Lori, & Botos' grandmother "Tillie". Very out spoken, into make-up, fashion!!! Got a little bit of Doris (my grandmother) very into big flashy bling jewelry. LOL. Jantz on the other hand is a mini-me version of Botos!! Very competitive, independent, a smart kid. He is ALL boy, trucks, dinosaurs, Thomas the Train, he loves DIRT!!! he loves to play play. I do have my hands full w/these two which is great for me. which leads me to my next patch.
Fourth Patch: Coaching. Now Botos & I both coach, I don't know how to do anything else. Its very time consuming, stressful...not so much, I am pretty laid back. I love working w/kids and being to able to teach them something and then see them use it in a game!!! Love to see improvement, the desire, dedication put into something and be successful. Now as a couple coaching, constantly going going going. I have decided not to coach anymore. Did I quit? NO, I am not a quitter and wouldn't quit on the girls in the middle of year; or quit on a coach in the middle of season. There were differences; me not coaching was something that was going to take place next year; not in the middle of the school. That decision was made from higher up. So now my duty consist of Full time PE teacher at Elementary & driving a bus route. Which I can make more $$$ and be home earlier. At this point in my life, I need to be w/my kids. Cora starts Kindergarten next year. Can't believe it! but yes this is something I wanted not this soon in the middle of a school year or a sport's season. While being a coach, I have made tons and tons of friendships w/other coaches, players, & families. That this patch could make its own quilt in its self!!! Basketball has always been a part of my life, little dribblers, JH, HS, Summer leagues, College. I appreciate all the questions & concerns but it is time I focus on my kids and I can still be a role model for my players by showing support in the stands or that I am being a MOM-a huge job itself!!! But coaching will always be there and someday I will be back coaching.
Fifth Patch: Brother & Sister. If walls could talk in our house or my parents house, oh my! My brother Josh, what a wonderful guy, always thinking of others & putting them first. He is a Dr. of Pharmacy....legal drug dealer...lol. He has a beautiful family. His two wonderful little boys are so stink'n cute. Bless Christina...she is the only girl in her family and so far still is. But someday there will be a little angel come their way. Josh reminds me so of my Dad its not even funny. Now too my sisters: Shannon-has blessed us w/two beautiful children that my parents have taken in. Another hard thing to do after you have raised your own 4 and then start over. But w/my two it makes it fun and never a dull moment. Now....BB aka Lori. She is a mess, funny, crazy, loud, always smiling, having fun! She make me laugh on a drop of dime. She is my twin...except for one area and I think we can all figure that part out!!! She is my best friend... a great aunt for my kids... a great story teller!!! LOL... Life w/out Lori equals boredom.
I know there are many other patches to talk about but they will all come about soon. I know we all have a quilt that was given to us or made by a family member that has meaning. I challenge you this summer to make a quilt of your family. Let your kids help out and pick out something to put in the quilt. The patch can remind you of a good time, bad time, or even an article of clothing of someone special in your life that you recently loss. That way when the quilt is done you can look at each patch and tell the story of that patch. It will be your Family HiSTORY!!!
Have a great Easter and weekend!!!!
Until next time... Mamabotos

March 11, 2010
Well I just returned from Austin, Girls State Basketball Tournament. I went to watch the teams that did make and of course, to see ALL my coaching buddies. This year's trip was a Sister trip: Sarah & Amanda; Myself & Lori. OMG I don't think there was a dull moment unless we were sleeping... we went to bed laughing and woke up laughing.
Of course you can't put 4 women together and not expect any shopping to get done! So I wanted to see what Harry Hines Blvd. & Shopper's Alley was all about. WE only made it to Sam Moon's and the stores around it. OMG!!! So much stuff and not enough time. But honestly I didn't really find any good deals... I guess I need to go w/an experience shopper for all that stuff. I did find Cora Lee some hair bows, dress shoes, but that is about it. Purse's Galore!!! What I did find were some luggage, really cute luggage sets all three or four pieces under $100!!!! to me that is not bad.
But I have a chance to go back this weekend. Lori's roomie, Delauren is getting married and I am taking Miss Thing (Cora), as well as my parents & Seester Lori.
Now back to the Austin Trip. So Thursday we watch Basketball ALL day... so much fun and a lot of good games!!! One thing Sarah told Lori was, "Take a good look at your sister, cause once she starts talking to all her buddies, we won't see her again until bed time!" LOL... which is true, I have never met a stranger. As a matter of fact I did end up staying at the "Hang out" place to visit w/all my pals while all of the sisters when back to the games!!! lol.
This was an awesome trip, w/all sisters, especially w/mine!!! I love Lori/BB to death.
Botos' baseball season is underway and things going great!!! The field looks awesome, he has worked is butt of on that thing!!! Babe I am very proud of you and your season will be an awesome season.
Spring break is just right around the corner and I can't wait. i think the kids are ready too, they both woke up this morning not wanting to go but once I told them we all next week they were pretty excited. Not any big plans over the break, does a to do list count? I have plans to get my husband's "Man Room" cleaned out and decorated. Don't worry I will take before and after pictures.
Track Meet tomorrow, Big Wedding Saturday and project "Man Room". Not too bad of a schedule.

Kids New beds!!
Okay, so we have been trying to get the kids to sleep in their own beds. Both of them do a good job at it for about 3 nights of the week. Well tonight they had their own idea! Move their own beds into our bedroom, that way they are not in our bed but in our bedroom. So we did, tell me what you think?!!!

Okay, your saying, 'They are small? What are they in? Laundry baskets?' Yes & Yes!!! lol.... This is what I walked into when I was going to bed the other night! These kids never seem to amaze me. Silly kids!!!
Until next time... Mamabotos

Happy Sista Day!
Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says~~
"Oh Crap, She's up!"
Sister
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right.
Love the ones who don't just because you can.

If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Kiss slowly.
Forgive quickly.

Today is sister's day, mothers, daughters, girlfriends even me if I am like one.
Happy Sister's Day!

I LOVE YA SISTA'!!! :-)

Girlfriend and Sister's Week
I am only as strong as the chocolate I eat,
the hair spray I use and
the friends I have.
To the cool women that have
touched my life.. Here's to you!
National Girlfriends Day

PIG SKIN SUNDAY
Ok, such a lazy day! Didn't even get out of the house!!! ugh, yes I missed church (sorry Trey) but when I miss I get a double dose of Trey. See while I am getting ready for church, Trey is on K96 from 9-9:30...so i get to hear last weeks sermon and then go and listen to Trey live!!! (in person)
So we watch the game, sad the Colts lost!!! Botos being from Indiana and all & plus they were blue & white. Your thinking why does the colors matter? Well they do to me. See I went to High School (here duh) colors: blue & white. College: blue, white ... 3rd color gold. First coaching job, Georgetown, Tx: Blue & white. Came back to Childress: blue & white. Next school... Bandera TX: blue & white!!! Hell... I mean Hart TX: maroon & white (didn't work out...) Now back in Childress: Blue & white. So ALL my clothes... literally are blue & white... Okay enough Blue & White.
Well the kids got bored... after their baths they are running around in their pull-ups, literally running around!!!
Cora finds a straw and a lid from a Taylor's cup.
Cora: Hey Jantz, get on all fours and let me show you like a pig?
Jantz: Ok!
So Cora starts tapping Jantz on his back, trying to get him to crawl around on the floor. She puts the lid inside her pull-up in the back; like the kids did at the Show barn w/their brushes... !!! So she starts tapping him, Jantz grunts and begins to root his nose into the dirt and she taps him and yells NO! lol. Then Cora reaches in the back of her pull-up, pulls out the lid (brush) and begins to clean the pig (Jantz). And then they trade places... hahaha Yes I laughed so hard but not as near as hard as the kids were laughing doing this!!! So students, young adults, ANYONE... their are always "Little Eyes Watching You!" Your actions & sayings do NOT go unnoticed. Little Eyes See & Hear every word spoken and every action acted. Don't forget that little eyes are watching you .
Poem: Little eyes upon us
There are little eyes upon us,
Watching you play baseball today.
There are little ears that quickly,
Take in every word you say.
There are little hands, all eager
To do anything you do,
And a little boy/girl who's dreaming
Of the day he'll/she'll be like you.
You're the little one's idol,
You're the wisest of the wise.
In their little mind about you
No suspicions ever rise.
They believe in you devoutly,
Holds all you say and do;
They will say and do, in your way
When they grow up to be just like you.
You are setting an example
Every day in all you do;
For the little child who's waiting
To grow up to be like you.
House Cleaning with the Kiddos
So Yesterday I come home. I go to Nanna's house to pick up my kids and off to the Donut Shop we go!!! The kids were excited and I loved it... seeing their smiles on their faces was priceless. So we make it to the donut shop, NO DONUTS!! but all cookies... even better. So we get a cookie each and ROOT BEER!!! U betcha... that is the best Root Beer in town. We are sitting and talking about our days. I asked what they learned at pre-school today and of course I get this answer all the time but I had to ask... "ABC's & 123's!!!" lol... silly kids.
Now we are home and I decide to CLEAN this house... can't stand it anymore. Of course the kids want to help, I have to say they do a pretty good job. So we sweep & mop and then get out the dust rags!!! Speaking of the rags, I could SQUEEZE more out of those rags and fill the cleaning bottles back up half way!!! So I would spray and the kids would wipe down... until... they wanted to spray the bottle!!! What is so cool about spraying the bottle? Well let me tell ya... its a great conversation piece, that is what it is so cool about spraying the cleaning bottle!!
Jantz: Momma is this too much?
Me: No Jantz, that is perfect!!!
Jantz: Okay Momma.
Cora: Casey, I need the spray?!
Me: Ok, hold on.
Cora: Casey I need it NOW!
Me: Ok, here sweetie.
Cora: Thanks Casey!!
(Cora calls me Casey or Coach Botos, occasionally Mommy; its the only way she can get my attention!)
Now this conversation takes place in Jantz's room. I am in the hallway.
Jantz: Sissy I am cleaning my Monster Trucks!! Whoa... look at all that white stuff! (glass cleaner).
Cora: Cool Jantz, can I help?
Jantz: Sure, you clean Gravedigger (lol)?
Cora: Jantz, lets don't fight anymore, ok? See we can be nice and have fun.
Jantz: Okay, is Gravedigger cleaned? (Just like a man, is it not? lol)
Gosh--- I giggled so hard at them two!!!
So cleaning got down, off to the kitchen to wash dishes... yes I let me kids wash dishes and water gets everyWHERE!! It didn't phase me a bit until... yes until it became a water fight!! Yep, Jantz found the nozzle spray (what is it w/this boy & the fun of SPRAYING!) and began spraying me!!! of course this was another conversation that I DIDN'T hear between them two.... Cora busted out giggling so hard UNTIL jantz sprayed her... OH NO HE DIDN'T!!! lol.
Finally, I sat down and those two began riding on Jantz's mONSTER TRUCKS racing around the house... Cora: Momma, now we can race, there is nothing on the floor so now we can ride ride ride!!!.
Then I get a phone call from Botos. Conversation:
Botos: Hey, on my way home. How are the kids?
Me: Good, in the bath right now.
Botos: Have they asked about me?
Me: No... ha. Sorry babe, lol. But boy they can clean house?
Botos: Oh those turds!!! Whenever I have them, all they ask is "Where's Mommy?" Where's Mommy?"
Me: lol... sorry but I AM ready to see you!
Botos: Ok, I am pulling around the corner.
Conversation Over!!!
I leave you with this.
Cleaning a room with kids around is like shoveling in a blizzard
You keep cleaning as they keep messing, you really wish you were a wizard
One zap and all the toys will be stacked up in place
And to put the rest of the toys away, the kids will have a race
What a nice dream it would be if the world worked like that
But then we’d all be lazy and get really really fat!!!
