We didn't even think twice.... all four of us ran outside and instantly started a snowball fight!!! I had the biggest smile on my face; I love a White Christmas!!! I just started laughing & hugging the kids.... oh what an awesome moment...
Merry Christmas for the Botos' kids!!!!

Monday

Well, I started my 1/2 day today. I only go in the afternoon & let me say I felt like a stranger... lol. Not having seen people in 2 weeks, seemed a lot longer than that. But it was nice to see those little elementary kiddos was awesome, all in shock... asking if I was ok... sharing hugs, all of them smiling.... it made my day.

the second best part of my day was when I was walking into the gym... or seeing the Lady Cats come into the gym. All running (some) over and walking and excited voices to shout that they were glad to see me! lol.... these are an awesome group of girls and they care... yes they have a heart... lol. It was nice to see them and be back around these young ladies.

3rd part of my best day... coming home to my kiddos... Jantz has this thing now he has to come out, open your car door for you. So no telling how long you are going to have to sit in the car, but he will come. Ohh Cora Lee.... she is getting so tall and pretty, & smart. She loves school!!! She is always teaching Jantz what she learned at school. Sometimes is cooperative and most of the time he isn't. lol.

4th best part of my day... spending some time w/ Botos. Its amazing how much we both needed it. Just to talk and hug.... loved it.

Okay, now I am watching my new show "The Sing-Off", loving loving loving it. I wish everyone a great day. Stay Warm!!!!

Until next time... Mamabotos

Saturday, December 12, 2009

Well, its the weekend. I had a good report from the Doctor. Still restricted to 1/2 days of work. Slowly but surely trying to build my strength back up. I guess I can do that by doing a load of laundry here or there.... nah, better rest. lol. I will have to say, I can't stand the thought of seeing 'dust bunnies." I might have turned into a clean freak, we will see though... don't get your hopes up Botos!

When I left the house yesterday,it was weird. I had not driven a car in 2 weeks!!! Yeah... freaky! But I managed to make it to the Clinic. Thank you Dr. Green for putting up w/me & taking great care of me....

Just me & the kiddos today on this fine Saturday. Botos is in Lubbock at a baseball Convention, then off to watch Canadian play. Man time!!!! When do I get some Girl time, no being in the hospital doesn't count!!! nice try though.... guys.

Okay, all is well at the Botos household. We have gotten all the shopping done for the kids, just need to buy for niece & nephews.

Thank you all for the cards, phone calls, concerns & prayers. This past two weeks have been an eye opener for me. In ways to slow down, family is much more important than anything else. How much it affected my kids while me being gone has blown me away. Sunday when I got home, Cora was just eating everything in site! Botos then made the comment that she had not been eating... well she ate enough that night she ate herself to sleep. Plus she wouldn't go to sleep unless she knew I was asleep or lying next to her. Sweet little girl, missed her momma.

Everyone have a great weekend, I think the kids I are going to sneak over to Magnum to watch the Christmas Light parade!!!

Until next time...Mamabotos

Pneumonia

Pneumonia fills the lung's alveoli with fluid, keeping oxygen from reaching the bloodstream. The alveolus on the left is normal, while the alveolus on the right is full of fluid from pneumonia.
Pneumonia fills the lung's alveoli with fluid, keeping oxygen from reaching the bloodstream. The alveolus on the left is normal, while the alveolus on the right is full of fluid from pneumonia.

People with infectious pneumonia often have a cough that produces greenish or yellow sputum and a high fever that may be accompanied by shaking chills. Shortness of breath is also common, as is pleuritic chest pain, a sharp or stabbing pain, either felt or worse during deep breaths or coughs. People with pneumonia may cough up blood, experience headaches, or develop sweaty and clammy skin. Other symptoms may include loss of appetite, fatigue, blueness of the skin, nausea, vomiting, and joint pains or muscle aches. Less common forms of pneumonia can cause a variety of other symptoms.

Diagnosis

To diagnose pneumonia, health care providers rely on a patient's symptoms and findings from physical examination. Information from a chest X-ray, blood tests, and sputum cultures may also be helpful. The chest X-ray is typically used for diagnosis in hospitals and some clinics with X-ray facilities. However, in a community setting (general practice), pneumonia is usually diagnosed based on symptoms and physical examination alone. Diagnosing pneumonia can be difficult in some people, especially those who have other illnesses. Occasionally a chest CT scan or other tests may be needed to distinguish pneumonia from other illnesses.

WOW... so now I have time to look up what Pneumonia is, does and how it works. The above picture and description is so TRUE! Man I was a sick sick sick girl. I would like to thank CRMC and the nurses... I know I bothered them so much. I never saw the same nurse twice... does that say something.. ? lol and to Dr. Green... your the best!

Things that crossed my mind during my stay...

Why does the channel changer only go up! C'mon w/technology now days surely there are beds that can change the channel up & down; w/out having to go through ALL channels.

Childress needs a TACO BELL!!! craved it so much, watched so many commercials. What can I do to get one here?

Favorite commercial-- 'Oh, did I do that?' I got not cell phone, I'm just a pothole." lol.... made me giggle everytime.

Request not to put IV in the elbow area... everytime you bend your arm it would beep.

Request a lesson on how to work the monitor for the IV. So you don't have to call them every 5 minutes (bag empty, air bubble, etc)

FOOD- I know those cafeteria people hated me. I didn't have much of an appetite anyways but the minute they would bring in the food, I would cover my mouth and point to take it back out the door.... lol. Not kidding. Just the smell of it.... did not settle w/me. That happened everyday, 3 times a day. Finally, Apply jacks was the only thing I could eat.

Until next time... Mamabotos

Time Flies

Does time fly? You betcha. Christmas is here and a time to reflect on the things you have done this past year a long w/things that have happened. But man My kids have grown! Spending this week, which is almost over, thank goodness. I have seen them act and speak in ways that I am thinking, what!!! The old saying is the grow up right in front of you is so true. Cora is all into technology, computers, dvds, & wii. She talks so big and wants to be big so fast! But like she says, 'Mommy, I only pretending... duh."

Jantz, he is all boy.... BOY! Mammy asked him the other night what he wanted for Christmas, this is his reply, "Monster-Trans-Thomas-Truck-Formers-the Train!" lol. His little mind was going faster than his mouth.... then he gets frustrated cause he messed up trying to say it!!!! lol.

But the last two days has been great. They have been very helpful in making sure Mommy rests but then they get frustrated cause I can't chase them around the house or scare them. So we have been playing 'dice." Yes we roll dice, its very educational. It teaches them how to find the numbers that are the same, to count out loud the dots on the dice, etc. lol. Plus it will make a great stocking stuffer.

Today I spent most of the day in bed, sleeping. Boy did I sleep! I think I responded to a friends text that was sent at 8:30 in the morning around 5:30 in the evening. lol. At least I responded! My A.D.D. is kicking in for just a minute. Your around people that text 24-7 right? Ok, you text them, in kind of an emergency or to ask an important question and they won't reply back!!! What the heck? Or you won't hear from people all day then the minute you walk in your house.... your phone lights up like the 4th of July.... good grief. Ok, done w/that.

Thursday, not much other than the kids have school all day (Cora does, Jantzer 1/2 day). I haven't been outside but the kids tell me it has been cold. They both got snow/rain boots and Cora loves hers! Imagine that... they have fur on the top... so yes Botos was singing to her---Boots w/the Fur!.... I was just shaking my head. Gotta love Daddy & we all do.

Ok folks, exciting day tomorrow. Why? Just because.

Until next time... Mamabotos

ME

Well, just an update on me/ I am home, was in the hospital for 5 days w/pneumonia---had it bad, never had it before. Don't want to get it again. I appreciate all the prayers, comments, cards, & flowers. I guess at times like this you find out who your friends are, how much you are loved, & how tough you are. I recently read a friends' blog about TOUGH (KP) & he couldn't have been more right. It got me thinking. Let me explain the three I listed.

1. Friends--- we all have friends, we have so many but we all want or need just that one friend we can talk to & tell anything to but I guess sometimes we want that one friend to be someone we choose. Okay your thinking ok, it is the one you choose but hear me out. I find myself 9 out of 10 times not telling that "one" friend, Best Friend, or whomever. I normally don't tell anyone at all. Why? The trust factor kicks in. I ask myself, If I tell this to this person, what will they say? or who will they tell? do they care? I'm pretty good judge of character and yes past incidents w/a friend determines if I can ever tell them something again in the future. I guess it just sucks when you expect a "friend" during tough times that "friend" doesn't come through. Which here recently while my stay in the hospital I found my True Friend(s). My family!!! (Home & Work)

2. How much you are loved --- By Friday, I was getting better & emotions FLEW!!! I could cry on the drop of dime, still can. The first time my kids came to visit me, I was still out of it. But to see their eyes looking at me, surveying the room and that I wasn't in good shape scared them. They did not like seeing me like this. I could hear them coming down the hall, looking into each room wondering which one I am in. Then when they saw me, holding their homemade 'get well' cards, it was the sweetest sights. They both hugged me, kissed me, and starting explaining their cards. Then they started asking tons of questions. Of course, they didn't like the fact I wasn't coming home and it hit. Cora came over to get my hand and help me get out to go home; sadly I had to say I can't baby. I just looked at her & her face; her hazel eyes began to water up... a tear fell, her lips sealed & a frown on her face. She looked at me, looked at her daddy then she walked over to her daddy, put her head in her hands and fell into Botos' chest and started crying!!! OMG... I lost it, still do. Bout that time Botos decided it was time to go; so they made a quick get-away but it was a silent one; Cora started crying even harder, knowing I wasn't coming w/her. Needless to say I cried myself to sleep. Now Jantz, he knew we were sad but he was more focused on eating everything on my tray, which got me thinking if Botos' was feeding them at home! lol Sweet kids, sweet kids. Pure innocence ya know. The next evening, Cora stayed w/me, by herself, which she & I both needed. We took a shower, she washed my hair, put lotion on me, combed my hair.... perfect evening. Cora & I needed that. BB then came & got her.

3. Toughness--- After a few days, I told myself that I had to be tough. So I got to come home on Sunday. But the Dr's orders were to REST, REST, REST! Which I am doing but its tough. You don't want to over do it to soon and have a set back. So I can't work this week, miss my kids at P.E. & my Lady Cats. Which I know will be there when I get back. Its tough. Just to sit and rest. Even though a lot of the times that is all we want to do. Life is to precious to sit back and rest. You get one LIFE! Live it to the Fullest. My husband is TOUGH! Why... he had to sit and watch his wife, lay up in the hospital, ache & cry, being miserable. He showed me Tough Love, by that he was there. He was there for the kids, feed them, bathe them, take them here & there, answer questions, plus work. I missed him so much, just his hand in mine or a sweet kiss on the forehead. Botos is simply the best.

Just a few more things. I need to become a better friend myself. I need to become a better Christian. I need to become a better wife & mom. I need to take better care of my body. I need to take better care of my home. All these things are like a two way street, it takes both sides. I have got to step up to the batter's box and perform. While my stay in the hospital as been an eye opener. I'm not changing who I am, I am simply polishing up on a few things about me.

Until next time... Mamabotos

Thanksgiving

Wow... had an awesome break.

Wednesday-the kids and I drove my Grandad to Tulia to meet my Uncle, so that he could have Thanksgiving in New Mexico & Also attend one of his great-grandkids 1st birthday. Came home, took a nap and Botos had taken the kids hunting and shot a Buck!

Thursday - got up, cleaned house and got all the Christmas stuff up (tree, lights, stockings, x-mas village). Some folks decorate their tree pretty & then some use homemade ornaments or ornaments that have been given as a gift. I did both! I decorated our big tree w/a theme or actually is was a decorating tree kit in a box. THEN I found that we (Botos & I) have our small first tree as a couple. So... I made the 4ft tree our homemade ornament tree. It has a flashing star and plus the kids can mess w/out me screaming out them. lol. I also noticed that we did buy some x-mas decor on sale somewhere last year. All snowmen, big, tall, short, fat, ones that light up and ones that just stand there. But one snowman managed to come out of the attic w/his shoe eaten off!!! Botos had the gaul to ask if we bought like that! ummm NO... but I can decorate really well. Can't even see the shoe!

That evening we headed over to my parents. Had a small gathering. Lots of little kids. Food was great. So after we ate. I decided to take all the kids riding around town and look at lights. Ohhh the radio was on 0
x-mas music and so I started singing ( I know I can't sing) but all my neices & nephews in the truck got real quiet and started repeating the songs as well as singing along. OHHH their soft little voices singing... so STINKIN' sweet!!!

Friday - got up EARLY to go hunting... yes at 5 AM but not Black Friday Shopping but to go hunting. Botos' got all excited, most excited have seen him in awhile. GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER!!! ok, back on track. So we get dressed, yes i wore 3 layers of clothes. So we headed out. Stopped & got coffee. On the road to get a buck! So we make it to the field. Park the truck and start walking. Its pitch black, I can hardly see. There goes Botos.... yes I walking behind him, but I walk so slow. So Botos stops and waits on me. I'm coming I yelled ... GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER!!! So we are about 25 yards from the deer blind (not a fancy deer blind---- homemade) so ladies its not like you can snuggle up. In this one you can't move!!! So we start going down this hill, BOOM i fell... yes rolled my ankle, carrying the gun... YES YOU MEN THE SAFETY WAS ON... I AM i mean, BOTOS is no that STUPID! So we make it up in the deer blind... not too cold. He is whispering to me what might all take place, the route they usually travel, blah blah blah. I just want to see a deer and shoot the dang thing. Sun is coming up, I am getting sleepy. So I close my eyes each time Botos turns his head to look behind us or to his left.... so I wake up and to my surprise I see SOMETHING! A mix of a mule, deer, thing a minjagy (?) A mule spike deer, this things ears were longer than its antlers-spike. Can't shoot it. So I just watched it walk away. Walk Away, Mulie''''' Walk Away!!! (Chicago Song)

Saturday- I get up to clean up kids rooms. Put all laundry away. About 2, I head to Estelline to put up my Grandad's Christmas lights while he was gone, Botos & I did. Saves him from having to get on the roof. After that, Botos & I head back to the deer stand. We walk up, and there were 2 Does at the feeder, oops SPOOK'D'em. dang it! While we watching them take off they (doe's) spook some more hoes, I mean Doe's!!! So we are sitting there. Then we hear "HONK, HONK------ HONK!!! Feeding time for the cows on the next property, um which we could see the cows... so I am mad. Done, Had it. FINALLY---- about 30 minutes later those same two SMALL doe's come back to the feeder. Guess what? WALK AWAY... DOES' WALK AWAY!!! Climb out of the stand. Go home. AT this point I am thinking of a Dear John letter to send to FATBOY OUTDOORS HUNTING... I am sad. At this point I want to spot any animal and pull over and shoot it just to shoot something. lol.

Season isn't over yet BUCKY BUCKY BUCK!!!!

Until next time... Mamabotos

Old Pets/New Pets

We recently lost our dog Tamber. So sad, very sad. She has been w/us ever since Botos & I started dating. She was 13 yrs old & it showed. But I do have a lot of great memories of Tamber. Let me share a few of those w/you now.

I remember the night we went & got her, of course Vernon found her for Botos. Little bitty thing!!!! Well, she went nameless for at least a week. Botos says that a pet will name themselves. So I thought, ummm ok, must be a northern thing, b/c our pets had a name from each kid as well as from my mom who despises animals. Back to Tamber. She got her name from one night she kept trying to climb the couch and would fall over, of course I would yell TIIIIIMMMMBBEERRR!!! as she would fall over. The great all mighty Botos said, TAMBER! to remember her from falling over trying to climb up onto everything. ahhh sweet I know. ; )

Botos would work during the day, so of course being the good girlfriend I was, I would go to his house check on Tamber. Well well well to no one's surprise, especially all you MOMS, the house was torn up!!! I mean trash can knocked over, pee & poop every where, toilet paper unrolled... So of course I would clean it all up before he got home. So in his mind he think she is a pretty good pooch, but whenever Tamber & I would make eye contact I would just give her that LOOK of I know you better pooch!

Also in Botos' house there was ONE wall heater, yea, Tamber & I would wrestle over who would get to sit in front of the heater when we could here it click on. We decided to share b/c you know I did pick up all of her mess....

At cook-outs in Botos' backyard Tamber would run run run. Especially if get out the Red Laser Pointer... uh uh. Of course in the house it was ok, she would get tired but this ONE time I thought I was going to sleep in the doghouse. So we are outside chilin, its getting a little dark so I pull out the LASER POINTER! So I turned it on and off she went, I made that dog run so hard & running so many laps that she couldn't run anymore!!! Botos ended up giving me the LOOK and he had to carry her inside the house and place the water bowl in front of her so she could get a drink and to catch her breathe. Funny & Sad at the same time.
Then in the summers I would go home and Lifeguard at the City pool. Well Botos was out trying to get a job and so I was in charge of her. I know what you are already thinking, keep thinking that. lol. I was up at the pool early in the morning from 10 till noon. Well Dad had brought Tamber up to the pool to let her run around. She decided to run along the wall that divides the big pool from the small pool. As she tried to turn around she SLIPPED & FELL IN!!! So I started laughing, she was scared to death. Got her back on the wall and she walked off. At that point Dad/Vern decided to take her on home. I get home and see Tamber lying on the floor, swelled up & all her white has turned pink. I was thinking Oh CRAP, no more Botos or no more ME!!! So we call our Vet, Fuston, of coursed he laughed at us, but we ended up giving her some Benadryl and she was fine after awhile.

The last two I am going to share w/you cause I could go on & on & on. Tamber gave birth to two liters. Out of the first liter is when I got my first boxer Jada (to some a mini-horse). I got her on mine & Botos' celebrating 6 years of dating. I was so happy!!! She was pal, my own dog, & awesome!!! But we lost her in the year of '05 due to cancer in the leg. It was the hardest thing being 6 hrs away and I know she was in good care w/Fuston. But she had a blood clot after amputating her leg go the heart. R.I.P.-Jada... ; )

The second liter was born on our wedding date!!! Yes after 7 years of dating we tied the knot. After our wedding, Vicki (Botos' mom) went home & to her surprise found puppies, all healthy. Which Vicki ended up keeping one out of the liter, today known as Chloe.

Which leads me to the title of this blog.... after having dogs Botos brings home a cat, we decided to name him Pokey. Well Pokey finds another kitty and brings it to our porch, which we kept namin him Baby Jack. Well, we haven't seen Pokey in awhile.... soooooo yesterday I get a text from Botos saying he got us a cat. Apparently the maintence men working on the Baseball field has said there has been a little kitty running around there. Well Joel found it yesterday in the engine of his truck. He asked Botos if he wanted a cat, he said sure where is it at? Joel said in under my hood. To Botos' surprise there sat an ALL white pretty kitty w/black on one ear & the tail is black. Of course the kids were shooo excited (slap me!) and its a girl kitty. Sooo of course this cat remains NAMELESS!!! hahaha if you have a name or we can stick w/Botos' theory of letting the pets name themselves that is fine too.
next post I will reveal a pic of the new pet as well as the NAME!!!

Until next time.... Mamabotos

Well

This week has flown by. Last Friday Lady Cats took on the Wellington Skyrockets. It was our first game of the season & it was a good one despite the score. Of course our girls were out of shape, but they hung w/the 12th rank Lady Skyrockets, Lady Rockets had better watch out come January when we meet up here at the Bobcat Den.

Kids are getting big. Cora is finally sleeping in her own bed!!! on some nights but even when she comes to bed I take her & put her back in her bed. I do have to admit, I don't sleep to well w/out her by my side. I am so used to her by now but she does get a better nights sleep and I do too.

Ryker, Jantz or Jantzer (whatever the child's name is) on the other hand he still gets to sleep b/c Daddy says sissy has a year up on him. So he is ok. Little stinker!!! His favorite movie now is CARS... which we watch at least 3-4 times a DAY!!! Before that it was "The Land Before Time."

So If you have any VHS tapes of any of these movies or just old movies that you don't have any use for anymore, I will be glad to take them off your hands. My kids can't keep DVD's scratch free if you know what I mean. I even have a TV/VHS tv that fits in my car. So if its a 19 inch tv, it beats a DVD player where movies skip.

Both kids are able to take their own baths, used to be all 3 of us....
Great Pic I found, looks just like us in a tub. Great small milestones we are taking at the Botos' household!

Until Next time.... Mamabotos

Wonderful Evening

I had a wonderful evening. Nothing special happened except me spending time w/my kids. My little man met me at VB practice and then he & I went to the JV football game, Ryker & I sat in the end zone, just chillin. We played w/a bouncy ball, threw a car & of course wrestled. Then he soon left me to play w/the boys. I then went and got Cora from gymnastics. She walked out w/arms wide open to give me a hug! ahhh I love those hugs and big smiles when they are excited to see me. The young ladies that work w/Mrs. Kim were bragging on Cora on how well she is at the vault. Its always good to hear nice things about our kids, no matter how old they are. Can I get an AMEN! lol. I looked over at Cora and she was just grinning, saying Thank You!

So we head back to the game, ate nachos, Ryker had to go back for more cheese. Sure he will be constipated for a few days, but wait he is a man right? so he had to go as soon as we got home. While at home, I am going through the kids papers from pre-school that day. I saw Cora had a sheet for practicing printing the letter Cc. So I had asked her to sit down and practice. She then informed me that it WAS NOt homework and that she had already done this other crap at school and Mrs. Angie said it was not homework & she doesn't want it back. lol. I then convinced her that I had a surprise for her if she did just to practice her writing. Boy howdy, she went to work.

She got done. So I went to the car to get my sack from Wal-Mart earlier that day. I had to go get me some socks. I don't know where socks go but man, they can disappear real fast. Well, right next to the package socks I saw some really cute $1.50 socks, the tall tube socks... ummm so I grab a pair or two, and got Cora a pair. Though she might like it. So I get them out of the sack and at first she was excited until she put them on and they were too BIG! well.... that went out the window.... of course Ryker was wondering where his prize was. I did get him a prize but not really. I got him batteries, yes batteries. I know what you are all thinking... R U Serious... batteries! He was so stinkin excited, he grab those two package of batteries and ran to his room. Now his trains could run and he could hook up all the other trains together and he could sit there and watch it go round & round & round. Never heard from him till it was time for bed. He threw those little arms up in the air like he won the race! So I sat his in room w/him & Cora. We put together his train track, put batteries in other trucks that were dead. We had the everything up & running: firetruck, big train, & small trains!!!

It was great to sit down on the floor playing and watching the kids play. I felt at peace, no worries or no stress. Just sitting & relaxing. Its amazing how our kids make us feel like a kid again. Enjoy them when they are little.... the things they say or do will amaze you.

love you Cora & Ryker!!!

Until next time... Mamabotos

Just Because

Yes Babe this post is about you. I know I don't brag on you and you don't like the attention or maybe you do. Either way I would just like to say how much I love you and that you are an AMAZING husband, dad, friend, coach, & person!!! I found a video/song that pretty much says everything for me. So Botos, I love you!
click on the below link!!!

I JUST CALL YOU MINE

Until next time.... Mamabotos

Kids

I have had blogger's block. I know what I want to write down but then there is that issue if I will offend anyone or do I really want everyone to know. But as woman we must talk or express to someone and I think 90% of the time we want to express issues or feelings w/our husbands but we know in the back of our mind we won't get that reaction we would get from a girlfriend or another mom. Ya know! Is there such a thing as an AA-for Moms to vent and not feel bad about session? lol.

Lots of things have been happening. Jantz started Mrs. Angie's this week. Such a big boy! So I take him the first day. We walk in, he is excited, goes right in and starts playing w/cars. I thought, ummm this is going to be easy than Cora. So I try to get his picture w/Mrs. Angie and that wasn't going to happen. So I left. Well by the time I got to my car i heard a scream/cry/hollaring for Mama! So I just went ahead and got in the car. Come Sunday, I saw Mrs Angie and she was telling me she picked Jantz up to hold him. To Mrs. Angie's surprise... Jantz is a lot stronger than Cora and had kicked her repeatedly! I feel so bad... he left bruises on her knees... Mrs. Angie I am terribly sorry I will have a talk w/his Daddy. lol.

another Thing w/Jantz is I believe are going to start calling him Ryker. Too many kids names are close to Jantz or Janyson (which everyone calls him) sooo Ryker or Rye... He answers to both. Its harder for me but Botos has already got him used to the name. Plus he likes it and he gave us the ok. lol.

Cora is a busy busy little girl. She attends Mrs. Carrol's twice a week as well as Mrs. Angie's twice a week. Come Thursday she is worn out. She has school from 8-12 & then 12-2:45 PLUS gymnastics from 5-6. But what is even scarier is she will in Kindergarten next year!!! wow how time flies.

This Friday Cora will be cheer leading before the football game at 6:30. I am so excited... so is she.... she gets to be on the track w/all the big cheerleaders!!! You know it won't be much longer and Cora actually will be down there cheering and Jantz/Ryker will be on the sideline as ball boy or probably giving his two cents in on the coaching side. I can see it now, he & Botos getting into on what play will work the best! lol

Until next time... Mamabotos

Wives Rule

WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST

She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee.

Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box.

Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week.

Her boyfriend is on the cover of GQ.

And her husband is on the back of the milk carton.

Keep reading-they get better!!!

WOMAN'S REVENGE

'Cash, check or charge?' I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.

As she fumbled for her wallet , I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.

'So, do you always carry your TV remote?' I asked.

'No,' she replied, 'but my husband refused to come shopping with me,

and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally.'

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN

(A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE)

I know I'm not going to understand women.

I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax,

pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root,

and still be afraid of a spider.

MARRIAGE SEMINAR

While attending a Marriage Seminar dealing with communication,

Tom and his wife Grace listened to the instructor,

'It is essential that husbands and wives know each other's likes and dislikes.'

He addressed the man,

'Can you name your wife's favorite flower?'

Tom leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, 'It's Pillsbury, isn't it?

WIFE VS. HUSBAND

A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word.

An earlier discussion had led to an argument and

neither of them wanted to concede their position.

As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs,

the husband asked sarcastically, 'Relatives of yours?'

'Yep,' the wife replied, 'in-laws.'

WORDS

A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day...

30,000 to a man's 15,000.

The wife replied, 'The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men.....

The husband then turned to his wife and asked, 'What?'

CREATION

A man said to his wife one day, 'I don't know how you can be

so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time.

'The wife responded, 'Allow me to explain..

God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me;

God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you !

WHO DOES WHAT

A man and his wife were having an argument about who

should brew the coffee each morning.

The wife said, 'You should do it because you get up first,

and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee.

The husband said, 'You are in charge of cooking around here and

you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.'

Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.'

Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.'

So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says 'HEBREWS'

The Silent Treatment

A man and his wife were having some problems at home

and were giving each other the silent treatment.

Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him

at 5:0 0 AM for an early morning business flight.

Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,
'Please wake me at 5:00 AM.' He left it where he knew she would find it.

The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him,
when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.

The paper said, 'It is 5:00 AM. Wake up.'

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

YES I FOUND TICKETS & YES I AM GOING!!!

I had told my sister, Lori.... that if I found tickets I would take her for her Birthday. Last week I looked & looked, couldn't find anything reasonable. So I had to tell her we can't go, the tickets were too high.

WELL... I found someone on Craig's List that was selling four tickets right next to the stage. So I thought what the heck I will email them and see if its for real or not. To my surprise this morning I was checking my email and had a reply regarding the tickets... to my amazement it was 4 real!!! SEC 10 Row B seats 10-13...

Wow, had a great weekend. Got up yesterday, we all made it to Church. Kids are starting to behave a little better. Had a great lunch and then we said bye to Daddy as he went to work. Shortly after Daddy left the kids and I took a nap. We all woke up in a good moods. I started cleaning the house, move some house lamps around from the kitchen/bedroom to the living room. The kids got Popsicles and took them over to Aaron & Kennedy. Oh... the joy of all 4 kids when they get together. Shortly after they left, i got a call from mom saying they made it. Yes, they walked over to my parents house. They have route to take.... go by Mrs. Angie's school, pass Nanna's house, thru Cindy's house/garage/backyar and then they are at Mammy & Pappy's!!!

While they were gone I was able to really clean the house.

Now I am spending my Monday morning watching the "Spongebob Squarepants Movie." I'm sure its just the 50th time we have seen it. Now Patrick & Spongebob just did and came back to life.... cartoons these days.... what happened to the Looney Tunes? Smurfs? The good ol' fashion cartoons.

Kids are learning to play "Go Fish," & Cora is teaching me how to shuffle the cards! Pretty good at too, she is! lol. They are so competitive its not even funny. Its amazing how much they are growing. Cora was lying next to me and she is sooo long.... its bout time for her to sleep in her own bed! I am up for any ideas how to get them into their own beds!!!

off to a busy day to spend w/the kids!

Until next time.... Mamabotos!

Friday, September 4, 2009

Hello folks! The Botos clan has been super duper busy lately. We have started school and there is something going on everynight & everyday this week. Let me spell it out for u!

Monday: JH Volleyball games
Tuesday: jv/v volleybal games; football practice till 6:30
Wednesday: carnival
Thursday: football games; girls parent meeting; kids pre-school teacher meeting.
Friday: football game away
Saturday: Vball away all day.

Sooooo looking forward to Monday. 1st school holiday!!! I am sleeping in... may not even get out of bed... j/k botos! really I'm not...

I personally have been struggling lately w/a lot of things. Why? I don't know. What? literally everything. I guess I am questioning myself and my ability. Who knows! But my wonderful husband said it right, "quit listening to others and go w/your gut!" I love U babe!

Thursday night was eventful night: Botos won his first game in football, w/a great come back, down in the 3rd 22-0 and ended up winning 23-22!
Plus Cora got stung on the booty by a wasp! she cried for just a little bit but soon forgot about it when she was playing football w/the stephens kiddos.

Everyone have a great day!

Until next time... Mamabotos

First time but won't be the last.

Today was a great day. Woke up went to church, heard a great lesson by Trey. After church we went to at Dawson's before Botos had to go to work. So the kids & I came home and started watching "The Land Before Time" a.k.a. the dinosaur movie. Jantz is in love w/the dinosaur movie...Little Foot, Sarah, Chopper & the gang. Then of course we took a nap, love naps... snuggling w/the kids.

After the nap, we went to pick up Aaron & Kennedy to go to the park to play. Beautiful day to play in the park, nice cool breeze. Lori & I was able to sit on the swing and sit & visit. So then I bring all the kids back to my house to play. Of course they go straight to the trampoline. In the last wind storm, it torn off our net off the trampoline. And of course we have a kid (Aaron) that flips off the trampoline... BAM! Of course I am watching the whole thing, as soon as he stands up his eyes were so big and he starts rubbing the back of his head, in shock.... a few tears fall but he gets right back on the trampoline and starts to play again. So I am sure it won't be the last time a kid falls off it.

Today we had another first time but won't be the last. As I am about to take Kennedy & Aaron home, I come back and sit down at the table to eat. I look at Cora and notice something different. I am thinking her hair is just pulled back w/gel or tangled up. I don't know. So I ask her, Cora did you cut your hair? The look on her face gave it away, face looked down and her hand went to cover it up. I was in shock, she starts pre-school tomorrow! Great... her bangs were just long enough to start pulling back and now some of her bangs are spiking out in front.... I know everyone has had a kid do this and I'm sure it won't be the last time. Her response was "Its just hair Mom, it will grow back!" and of course Jantz had to add his two cents, "yeah mom, its just hair, duh?" What'.... where did this "duh" stuff come from. hahaha.

Another busy week a head of us. Goodnight folks....

Until next time.... mamabotos

Friday, August 28, 2009

The first week of school is behind us now, had a good week, no complaints. It is kind of nice to be back on a routine, but I have a feeling next week will be tougher. Cora has school at 8 two days and Jantz starts his school at 8 on the other two days.... what a joy to get two kids up and dressed.... so what this all means is an earlier bed time!!!

Last night the Bobcats had a their first football game of the season. So Dad & I traveled w/four kids (whom everyone knows). I have to admit, I said I would never do that again due to our previous trip, BUT you never say never right? Well, we started our journey and they were all buckled in, in their own area. All had a pillow, a toy. Of course my two hadn't had a nap (planned it that way....) so I knew they were tired, well by Hedley they were OUT.... by then Dad & I could talk or he could talk and I listen. Love listening to my dad talk and tell stories.

We made it to the game, of course we sat on the front row and the concession stand was at least half a mile up! lol. Someone special was also coming to the game and that was my brother Josh & Luke, it was so much fun! And have to say all the kids were pretty good, I don't believe making kids and be still at a football game.... besides they have to be still in a car for 2 hours, at school all day.... they need to release energy!! I noticed the girls (Cora & kennedy) were entertained by the cheerleaders and Jantz was sitting wherever Aaron was sitting. Aaron is getting to the age where he is asking questions about the game, why did they do that? Why are they throwing those yellow things? What's the score? We are ahead right?

Everytime we play close to the city of Amarillo, we always get to see ex-Bobcat Players who now reside in Amarillo and bring their little ones to watch the Bobcats play. Heard many comments about the small number of guys standing on the sideline or how these kids now-a-days don't know how to compete or win? I was sitting there thinking.... ummmm that is crazy how people can see that just from one game. Couple of comments were even made that when they stopped letting kids play in the end zone of the home football games!!! U know when kids can play pick up games like that and learn to win or COMPETE is awesome, but as adults we tend to take those little things like that away from them. U always here, "Well We used to do this or do that?" Well, where did it stop? Who stopped it? and Why? But one things I would like to say is if you don't keep score these kids will never know how to handle a loss or celebrate a victory. Its not about 'everyone is a winner' NO, not everyone is a winner & NOT everyone is an athlete so don't push a kid that isn't or better yet don't live your dream through your kid(s).

Okay better get of my high horse about that subject. Looking forward to a great weekend. busy saturday of Vollebyall.

Until next time... Mamabotos

1st Day of School

WOW, what a great day it turned out to be. I honestly felt like I have never left school all summer. But man, when I walked into the school building this morning, seeing all the kids in their new clothes, bright smiles, lots of hugs... it turned out to be a great day! But what is crazy is to see how much all the kids have grown over the summer.... boys gotten taller, girls start maturing...... (hahaha) its just crazy. All the faces I remembered but the NAMES just couldn't come too today....

Boy do my feet hurt! You know in a classroom, you get to sit, but in a gym... forget about it.... then go and coach for after school practice.... man, feet were throbbing today. Even though next week Cora will start Sonshine School & Texan Pre-school (a busy little girl) & Jantz starts Sonshine school.... I will be sad, even though its for half a day, this time next year I will be in tears.... yes even though I will be in the same building its still hard.

Got home, cooked supper, then the Kids and I went for a bike ride around the neighborhood after seeing Randy Allen & his boy out and about. Then it wasn't much longer we ran into Jared & Nicole Dill, then we all traveled down the road and found Russell Graves & his kids. So if you live the SE (SouthEast) it was bike riding night. Maybe we should start a Bike Riding Club, "Get your Rear in Gear!" What a great time to spend w/your kids plus exercise at the same time. Something to think about.

Okay folks goodnight.

Until Next time....Mamabotos

What to say

Tonight I was able to sit down in the end-zone and watch "BOBCAT" football! It was great, the weather was cool, nice breeze, the sounds of the pads hitting one another, the cheers, the ahh's, everything was great. Proud of the Bobcats, saw some good things & some NOT so good things, but the season is early and kuddos to Coach Chisum, he is doing great things, keep up the good work to all football coaches!

The kids today were awesome, they spent the day w/me at work; of course they love my office w/every toy imaginable. I loved to hear them giggle & play. However, Cora was riding away on a scooter today and UMMMM was unable to stop and ran smack dab into the wall... of course her cute little face hit it as well...ouch! I though 'oh crap' broken nose! but she was okay and got right back on the scooter.

I heard Botos tell Rye (Jantz) that his face isn't a little boys face anymore, that its turning into a big boy face... ahhh can't believe how much he has grown. This year he will be starting Mrs. Angie's & gymnastics. We will be super busy!

Onl 3 days left till school starts! I am getting a little bit excited but not much... lol.

Until next time... Mamabotos

8-18-09

Boy have i been busy the last 10 days. Volleyball is off & rolling, so far we have had 2-a-day practices, scrimmages, & tournaments. The life a coach/mother/teacher is a busy life, boy it sure hasn't seem that way before but it has hit me lately. Going Going all the time, leave when my kids are asleep, come home when they are ready to go to bed... I just miss them so stinkin' much! I look forward to summers, but I hate to see them go. I go from hardly seeing my kids to seeing them everyday back to not seeing them at all. Doesn't help that I get in trouble by Miss thing for not taking her to any games! haha. Plus little man just wants to go where the "Stinky boys" are, football field.

Today was a hard day for the kids. I had to take them to get their shot record updated.... SHOTS! I had told them before we went to hopefully toughen them up, wrong idea. Cora worried herself to death, cried, cried, cried. Broke my heart! But she did survive after 3 shots and a finger prick. Jantz on the other hand, he was all BIG boy today. Never cried, never showed any fear at all, just hopped right on top of the table and laid and took it like a man! When they did poke him w/the shot all he said was "ouch!" after that he was good to go, got his car and start driving around on the floor & walls! lol. Can we say all boy!!! Very proud of my kids today.

After shots, they went home w/nanna to take a nap, welp, that didn't happen. They made it to practice w/me today, which was awesome. My little assistants were handing v-balls to hit at the girls or hold up for the girls to hit. They were cheering on the girls, what an awesome site for me to see my kids be around such an awesome group of girls. After practice we came home to mow the backyard, then off to see Daddy at practice. After Daddy's practice, the kids took off to tackle Daddy on the football field, jantz had the ball and was running from him.... then here comes Cora flying on top of the boys!!! hahha.

Well, back to see school tomorrow to decorate the P.E. gym doors. Cleaned out the office today, tomorrow is for lesson plans & SOCS page. I am getting excited about P.E. Something new we are doing to kick off the year is we will be hosting a Punt, Pass, & Kick Contest!!! I am so looking forward to this.... we will have the BIG contest on a Sunday afternoon at the Football Stadium... winner will advance on to the next round. So parents keep an eye out for this in our local paper & your kids folders.

Alright folks, my kids are out, first time before 10 all summer! I am about to be out myself.

Until next time... Mamabots

Saturday, 8-8-09

Got up early to ride a bus to Amarillo, our first volleyball scrimmage of the season. Very pleased w/my JV team, hard working, scrappy, & very coachable. It was a long day but man it ended great.

I love it when I drive up in the drive-way and my kids are outside my car door before I can even put the car in park!! lol. screaming "Mommy's home, lets go swimming!" lol. And to feel those arms squeeze my legs so tight & asking me to me hold them... puts a HUGE smile on my face and all my worries are gone. its amazing how a day of stress & long hours in a hot gym can all go away w/the sound of my children's voice and the feel of those arms hugging me. So we went swimming, took along Aaron & kennedy; it so much fun to watch all four of the swim, going off the diving board, going down the slide together, on their bellies... and hear them laugh!!! it was so relaxing to see them enjoy themselves and have fun! Not a worry one! Love life....

Now I am home watching Cora dance to "Choo Choo Soul!" She is such a little dancer and loves now to learn the lyrics of songs on the radio, CMT, & Fuse... She loves to watch music videos and mock the singers, holding a microphone & their moves (dancing). I can't wait to put up a huge mirror up in her room, cause then we will never see that child! She loves to look at herself, watch her expressions, so darn cute!!!!! Just like her daddy, when it comes to looking in the mirrow. always needs to look good...

Well, my eyes are heavy and I am sooo ready for a shower and crawl into bed; wonder where I will sleep; in my bed or in Cora's bed w/her? ummmmm.... Jantz is already in bed w/his chocolate milk & watching Monster Jams. Here is a funny story about a conversation I recenlty had w/Jantz.

Jantzed asked me if I had a wee-wee... I giggled and said no, only boys do. His response, "Mommy you need to go get a wee-wee." I said, "Where should I go & get one?" Jantz replied, "U go to Wal-Mart and buys a wee-wee so you can pee-pee like meez." lol. I was laughing so hard, but he was so serious!!! Oh the conversations you have w/little boys....

Until next time... Mamabotos.

1st week of 2-a-days almost over!23

This week has been fast & slow. Monday, I was fired up ready to go... got to see all the girls, asked how their summers were, full of hugs and 'hey's'. BUT that all changed by today, I am worn out, the girls are worn out and we have our first scrimmage on Saturday, Just looked at my calendar for this month and guess what? No more weekend are opened for me!!! I know those that work everyday all summer long, at least you have your weekends! lol.

Even though school is about to start I MISS my kids. Its so hard for them to adjust to not seeing during the school year to seeing me every day all day. I miss little folks. But I do love to see them when i get home and before I can open up my car door there they both are, screaming "lets go swimming!" of course they are ready to go & its so hard for me to say no!

Yesterday the kids & I plus BB drove up to Tulia to see my new nephew, Zach! Ohhh how cute they are when they are only days old!!! the kids also enjoyed playing w/Luke, the big brother, going to the park, playing in the sand box & then in a little pool sliding down a slide! At first Luke looked at my kids like they were crazy, but he sooned joyed in and had a blast!!! It was so fun to just relax and spend time w/my brother & nephews. Man, I sure do miss my brother. It is crazy how time gets away from us and we find excuses to go see each other. I am going to make a better effort to see & spend more time w/my brother. I love u Josh!

Well folks, my eyes are heavy and my body is tired. I am going to say goodnight!

Until next time... mamabotos.

Last two days-09

I have a had a wonderful time w/my kids. I enjoy taking them in public, so parents don't but in my eyes how will they ever learn to behave (if they ever do, lol) in public if you don't take them out? oh well. I just took a quiz online, "What kind of mom are you?" The result, Casual-I will handle things as they happen. Pretty right on if you ask me. When I took my kids to the John Deere Grand Re-opening we were going to wait in line to get some of that great food, then I realized I can't hold 3 plates by myself and of course Jantz had to go potty. At first he wanted to go right there on their pretty green grass. I said NO and we went inside. So we are in the bathroom and he is amazed that the potty water is blue, then as he is peeing the potty water turns green!!! he is so amazed!!!! How do you actually tell a 3 year old that when you mix two colors they make another color? Well I did, told him his pee-pee was yellow and when you mix yellow & blue u get green!! Even Cora was amazed!!

Yesterday's evening ending w/Cora and I sleeping w/our heads at the foot of the bed watching cartoons, we had a great time, love listening to her talk and watching her learn cheers and songs that come on the radio. Awesome little girl!

Today, the kids and I went swimming. man how they have learned to swim! Going off the slide, diving board, doing canon balls.... all the little things we used to say & do. Botos came out and joined us for a little bit. Came home and everyone took naps, but of course I couldn't. Ugh!

This evening went the kids and I went to Estelline to enjoy the Poker Run they have every year. Also at this time we celebrate my granddad's birthday every year. But this we will be celebrating w/out my lovely Granny, whiched tonight seemed different not having her around. All the cousins were there, grand-kids, & great-great grandkids... just watching them all play, run on the square, listening to live music! What an awesome time to spend w/family.

But tonight my brother and wife are in the Amarillo hospital waiting upon the new arrival of their 2nd child, Zachery Christian Moore. I pray all goes well. But their first son was born on 6-1-07 and hoping she can hold off till after midnight so that their 2nd son will be born on 8-1-09...... how cool is that! So far she hasnt' had him yet!!!

Until next time... Mamabotos
