Let me tell you my FRIDAY!

Lets see...Friday it was. We didn't go swimming, due to the fact that Botos was getting ready to leave to head out to Omaha Nebraska for College Baseball World Series!!! This is something he has wanted to do for a long time. Hopefully we can do this every year or every other year. He took the Camper and the new car! Which is awesome because I feel so much better with him driving the new car instead of his truck. Which the truck is about to go ka--plooooeeeee! But that truck means a lot to ME... that was my first vehicle to buy, right after college. Then I got married, he took the truck and gave me a Ford Focus (standard). Yeah, we moved to San Antonio, Hill Country, I am driving a stick shift in the Hill Country!

Let me tell you about this one time: Oh lord... ready? Ok. So I am driving and I come to a stop light. Slight hill, ok a big hill incline. I look in my rear view mirror and a cop car pulls up behind me. I'm already nervous enough & now a cop behind me, driving a stick shift in the city, hill inclined. So Botos is freaking out too which doesn't make things any better. Light turns Green...I start to take off and it DIES!! So I am trying to hurry up, re-start the car, Botos telling me to hurry, Cop car behind me!! So I finally restart the car..but this time, I gunned it, back wheels start to burn rumber!!! I start to swerve from peeling out, in front of the cop, the car that was beside me was of head of me, but not much longer cause I beat it across the intersection!!! OH...lord help me, I just knew now I was going to get pulled over. Thankfully, in the end I made it safe back to my house, didn't get pulled over, & Botos said he wasn't riding with me again!! LOL.

So back to Friday, Botos pulls out of the drive way at 5; Gave him a hug & said, "Do you have the tickets?" Botos: 'Nope!" So he runs in to get the tickets. Said Good-bye's again. So I load up the kids, bathed to make it to VBS. Phone rings, its Big V (Dad). Asking me to bring the red trailer to Estelline to haul junk off from my Aunts house in Estelline. I said sure, no problem. But there was a problem, how am I going to back the truck up to the trailer w/out Adult help? Aaron is here to save the day!!! Thank the lord he hangs out w/Pappy because he is Pappy Jr. made all over!! First thing Aaron says is, 'Casey you don't have a hitch!' Oh, crap! So I run home, no hitch or ball...of course not, Botos has it on the Armada pulling the camper. Now what do I do, my Uncle Kyle to save the day! He had an extra one for me to use...So I go back to hook up the trailor. Phone Rings-Botos this time. "Hey babe, did I by chance leave the camper keys at home?" I don't know, I am trying to hook up a trailor. "Can you go look for me, so that I can put my mind at ease?" Sure, I run back home to see....Yep he left'em on the counter. Called him back and told him. Next question,"Can you meet me between Goodlet & Childress?" Ok, so I load up all kiddos, we start driving. Remember, VBS. So we meet, give him the keys and we head back to C-town. We hook up the trailor, yes Men I did. We leave to go get gas and then off to VBS. Pull up to the gas pump, NO WALLET! Go back home, get wallet. Go back to the gas station, we are waiting for a car. I decide to go ahead and go in and get snacks & drink. Go in, got 3 corn dogs & 2 burritos and drinks. Come back to the truck, doors LOCKED!!! Oh crap...go back inside the gas station, asked to borrow a phone, called my mother-in-law, she brings up the spare key. We get in, pull the truck up to pump gas. While waiting for the spare key, we all enjoy our corn dogs & burritos in the bed of the truck!!! Cool.... lol. Start pumping the gas, I feel something spraying on me, so I stop the pump, it stops spraying, I pump, it sprays! There is a hole the pump hose!!! Great.... so I have gas on me now, 4 kids whining because we didn't make it to VBS, a dad who is waiting on me in Estelline, & a hubby that is now off to Nebraska!!! Wheeww.... we finally leave the gas station and make it safe & sound to Estelline. THE END!!!

Unitl next time.... Mamabotos

Kids

So on Wednesday, I decided to take all 4 kids swimming. Nothing new for me, but it might seem to others. First of all, I got up, slept in... but Cora slept till 10:30...Lazy Bones!

So we get up, pick up the house. Put on our swimsuits, oh wait the kids slept in theirs!! Its summer time....so 11:30 rolls around, I order pizza and our friend Lauren is going to pick it up and bring it to the pool to join us! I go by to pick Aaron up from Summer School & then off to get Kennedy. I know at Debbie's the kids lie down from 12-2:30. I walk in and Debbie tells Kennedy that Casey is here...Kennedy pops up and yells "Yeah I am going swimming, My Casey is here!" lol.... crazy girl.

So we load up and head to the pool! We ate, play, & swim, dove for rings & rockets, pennies, dimes!!! I am pooped. A huge Thank You to Lauren, let me tell you why. 3:30 rolls around and Botos calls and ask I if I would like to ride w/him to Altus to watch his summer league team. So asked Lauren if she wouldn't mind watching the kids and take them to VBS. Waiting for an answer...she says Yes, that would be fine. I look at her again, like you serious? She says YES! So I tell the kids, they were excited...couldn't tell who was more excited me getting to go w/out kids or the kids getting to stay w/Lauren! LOL So I come home, take a shower and off to Altus we go. Nice quiet ride, we talked, talked, & talked some more. Make it to the game, I text Lauren to see how things went. Here is the reply: "Jantz busted HARD on his bike earlier and he fell asleep and doesn't want to go to VBS. You want me to take the other kids and just take him w/Me? So I said yes that would be fine.

Well, Little man ended up @ Pappy's house, fell asleep. When he woke up, he rode his bike back over to Lauren's and hung out w/her for a bit. Sweet boy! So we don't make it back to pick up the kiddos so Pappy did.

So I was hungry, heard Altus re-opened their TACO BELL!!! So I leave the game to go to Taco Bell. Something quick & good. OMG.....crowded, 20 cars in line thru the drive thru, I was # 9. I begin to look around and found a parking spot...yippeee! I get out and go inside, placed my order, thought that was quick, but then I stand and wait, wait.....wait.....wait.....wait....wait! Finally got my food (#6-Supreme/Baja Chalupas), out the door I went. I noticed something while I was waiting, they sell Frozen Margaritas!!! I pull out of the parking lot, get a text from Botos: "The game is over!" My thought, great! But we will not eat in the car!!! So I pull up & texted him and said, "I am out underneath the picnic table." So I sit down and begin to grub!!! Everyone is leaving the park, our lighting was the baseball field lights, no kids, nice breeze. It was a perfect evening to sit outside and enjoy each others company.

We make it home, pick up the kiddos, who were asleep over at Mammy & Pappy's. Cora was out, but Jantz was up & talking away...telling us all about his bicycle wreck. He got scratched up pretty good!! his right cheek (on his face), chest, elbow, & his knee!!! But he was ok, cause Lauren fixed him up w/the band-aids. thank you Lauren for helping w/the kids today. You are great w/kids and best of luck on your job interview! We love you!!!

Until next time...Mamabotos

Camping North of Wellington

So, we loaded up yesterday
afternoon and headed north. We have heard about this little campsite or roadside park. I remember going there as a student, with our youth group. Playing in the river, football in the river, tag, or any game we could think of.

As we pulled up, it was vacant of campers but there were people there, cooking out (oh it smelt good!), hanging out, families laughing, just having a good time. I was excited!!! We unhooked the trailor, met the host of the campsite, Austin & Patsy Willowby (?). Very nice people & helpful. The kids were sooo excited to get dressed and head to the river! No swimming pool, just a sandy, muddy river/creek!!!

This is our second camping trip this summer and we plan many more. Please enjoy the pics!

Here is me & my little Cora Lee. She loves to take pictures! Needless to say, she slept all afternoon. She attended her FIRST slumber party the night before. I believe they stayed up till 3! LOL They had a beauty pageant & decorated pillow cases. What fun!

My little Man Jantz! Loved the river...the minute his feet hit the water he was off! It was so funny to watch him take off running. One minute he would be
running in shallow land and the next he would hit the ground!

But his most favorite thing to do was to run straight at his
daddy and slide as if he was sliding into home plate!!!

Cora & Jantz started to play leap frog, now that was a sight to see, especially when Botos started playing!!! LOL

Jantz's other thing to do was to try to catch the itty bitty tiny fish/Minna. He think he would have one, come up with a handful of mud and then he would throw the mud at us!!! ; ) Little turd...he would start giggling so hard. Nothing better than hearing your children laughing & playing.

We really enjoyed our time here. Our plans for the future is to invite as many people to come and spend the afternoon. It would make a perfect Sunday afternoon get-a-way. Good thing is, you wouldn't even have to stay the night, just load up & come back home. But as for me, I love camping!!! So I would be staying the night. There is a grill for cooking hot dogs & do have smores later on in the evening.

Until next time Mamabotos.

SummerSummer Time

My first full week out of school and I haven't accomplished much other than sleeping in till 9 & going swimming for 3-4 hrs a day. Which hasn't been too bad. The kids are doing awesome at the pool. Bringing back some childhood memories.

Aaron has become the daredevil... what else is new right? He is getting so big!!! He will be turning 8 next month and will be a 2nd grader. He is all boy, which is great, because he & Jantz play well together.

Cora Lee is Cora Lee! She will let you know how to do things the right way OR show you! LOL... she is stinkin' funny. She has noticed that she has a tan line and does not like it. She does wants her skin to be all the same color, not white or brown! At the pool, she is learning to dive, no floaties, & learning to do different jumps off the diving board. She just learned the pencil drop where she can go and touch the bottom of the pool, as well as swimming between my legs.

Jatnz has thrown away the life jacket & the floaties as well!!! He has grown so much, gotten taller. He can now touch on the other side of the wall at the pool. He can also swim under water and dog paddle (really fast dog paddle.) Jantz can also swim between the legs and he can now pick up a penny up off the bottom of the pool. Oohhhh CANNON BALL is his favorite.

Kennedy, well she has also done away the floaties & life jacket and has become an excellent swimmer. But let me tell ya, this girl wants to learn on her own. She will not be forced or you can forget it. When she was beginning to swim off the side, she has a look of pure concentration! Those eyes focus, that face gets stern, and she gets the look of determination! Crazy girl!!! But she has become very independent as well as growing up.

I can't complain. I get to see my kids & nephew, niece play all day everyday BUT there is a time for a break from each other. As any mother or aunt or cousin knows that. We as grown ups need breaks from each other at work, family, & friends. But the great thing about taking breaks and the excitement of seeing each other again w/in 24 hours!!! LOL... I remember my child w/my brother & sisters and what is crazy is...I see it w/in my children & niece, nephew. Coming up w/the same games we did as children. At the pool: Marco Polo, Sharks & Minnas, Dunking each other and screaming a color and the person being dunked had to listen for the color and when raise say the correct color IF NOT you got dunked again!! At home, hide-n-go-seek, tag, riding bikes w/no training wheels, learning words to songs and singing them as loud as you can! Oh the summer nights of your child hood.

I am looking for more memories to make as the summer goes on. I am enjoying mine & hope you are enjoying yours.

Until next time... Mamabotos

Water Dogs

Day 2 at the Pool and my kids are water dogs!!! But we have started our summer off great, no complaints other than probably from Botos' as to why the kitchen is dirty...hahaha. Okay, house cleaning in the morning & then off to the pool again tomorrow afternoon. I can't complain, I love the pool just as much as the kids do.

So the day started off w/Jantz hollering at me from the living room, to get him chocolate milk and to turn the T.V. on. My thought: U serious? I am dead asleep and my 3 year old is yelling for me at 8 in the morning for chocolate milk & turn the TV on? Just a like a Man...! So what do I do.... roll over and go back to sleep!!! for twenty more minutes. Of course, I am sleeping w/Cora in her bed. I bed hop in the middle of the night from my bed to hers...but that is getting old!!! She does a good job now of sleeping in her own bed, she has realized its getting to crowded.

After getting up & around the kids took off on their bikes over to Pappy's house. So while they were over there I did a few things out & about. Came back & all kids were ready to go swimming!!! So they all loaded up and we headed out.

About 20 mins later I received a call from my Dad that my Uncle Kenny is being rushed to Amarillo for possible surgery. He has experience 2 heart attacks w/out knowing it & as the day went on found out he had 95% blockage in one & 100% blockage in the one as well. He will meet w/a specialist tomorrow and possible surgery on Thursday. Please keep him & our family in your prayers.

So back to chillin' at the pool, I look up and could see someone trying to do a front flip off the diving board and when that someone came up from the water is was KENNEDY! That little toot just decided to try a flip!!! She came up smiling... when you see a child smile that makes your whole day worth it!!! Then there was Jantz & Aaron trying to do back dives off the wall; Cora Lee playing w/Lilly trying to do handstands in the pool. All the things me as a kid tried. Isn't crazy how the cycle of learning things.

We soon left the pool because everyone was just starving... so we came home and found Botos' snoozing on the couch. Busted!!! lol So I went into the kitchen and heated up some chili mac. those hoodlims ate every bit of it up!!! Besides Cora she had her bowl of cereal... crazy girl.

So the kiddos headed off out back. I could hear singing so I just stood in the laundry room and looked out the back door. There I saw all 4 of them singing and playing air instruments, guitar & drums. Cora was the director and the boys were following orders... Kennedy was just singing away...

Then came in Jantz & kennedy...they headed over back to Pappy's. Then went Aaron & Cora. Crazy kids. So then I head to Wal-Mart to get a birthday gift, toilet paper, & water plus pool snacks. The kids new drink they like is a bottle of water & then pouring in their own kool-aid flavor... not bad... 24 waters $2.48 & 3 boxes of kool-aid w/8 in it, each for $1.00. I thought it was a good buy but who knows.

Party @ 6: 30 for Maddie...swimming party!!! So of course all kiddos went swimming again...had a great time at the party. Lots of fun. After the party, we head to the baseball field to see how the game was going. Too our surprise there were 2 games. Little Man was tired!!! So we made it home and he grabbed his pillow and two seconds later I looked over & he was OUT!!! of course Cora was still wound up, so we played the Wii--Just Dance!!! until the batteries died on the sensor bar!!! urrrgh... so she crawled up on the couch where Jantz was...and she was out!!! lol.

So I sat down & thought about checking out my blog, wow... I have lost my touch w/my blog. So starting today June 1st, first day of the month, I plan to continue updating my blog as my Life Journal. Its not for entertainment but for me. I hope someday I can get this published into a book for the kids to go back and read. That would be really cool gift for someone to give me and for me to give my kids.

Until next time...Mamabotos

Rockfield

WOW WOW WOW!!! It doesn't even look like the same field where many of us all grew up on playing!!! I'm sure we have memories of that field of the teams you were on, what position you played, if you hit home runs or not. Not me, I was lucky to get on base. Of course when I played we played w/the boys (co-ed). One game in particular I remember is: I was playing left field, more like squatting and picking the grass and playing w/bugs in the ground. But, Amy Drinnon & I got on the bases. At one point, Amy got on third and she stole home and slid...yep skinner her whole leg up!!! So as she steals home, then I ran from 2nd to 3rd. So then the pitcher winds up to pitch the ball, he throws the ball, the catcher (not hind-catcher!!!) misses the ball (pass-ball); So then my coach says "GO!" I take off, I'm on my way...the whole time through my head I am thinking of what just happened to Amy!!! I get closer to home and next words from my coach, "Slide!!!" So I slide and the catcher lands on top of me!!! (Johnny Arnn, for those that remember him he was not a frail skinny boy). So now I am laying in the dirt...legs across home plate, skinned up leg, & the catcher on top of me squishing me. Finally I hear the umpire yell "SAFE!" Thank the Lord, I can breath now and get up and hopefully walk back to the dug-out. So, there we are, Amy & I, sitting and comparing who's leg looks the worst...luckily we didn't have to go back in the game...the coach felt bad. Plus there are many more memories to share but that is the first that comes to my mind. Also, No girls ever made the All-Star Team...ummm.

The next year, both Amy & My Dad's decided to add softball...think the lord!!! They built the softball that is still standing to this day. Yes it needs updated but there on so many memories on that field for a lot of young girls as well. I'm sure in time, girls, the softball will have a make-over done in the near future. Boys field gets re=renovated; Girls field gets a Make-over!!! Just thought that was funny. It took our parents to take time to build the softball to get us our own field & league; so parents it starts w/you; someone isn't going to do it for your daughters. It will happen but when? that is up to you!

Here is a link of the "Rock Field" renovation (if it doesn't show, click on the BLACK VIDEO CAMERA at the end of the title) that was aired on KVII News out of Amarillo as well as some pictures of the Opening Day Ceremonies. Pretty awesome that my little girl, Cora Lee, was standing out there on the NEW field....gives me chills.

Cora's Team: Benchwarmers

Cora waving when her name was called.

This Sign is like the icing on the cake, PERFECT!

All kids from every age division boys & girls.

Before all the kiddos...
