Cora turns 5!

My my my how time flies! My little girl turned 5 this past Saturday. I can't believe how much she has grown up. She has accomplished so much but her biggest just happened recently. Riding her bike w/no training wheels and starting off by herself w/no help!!!

We had her birthday party at the "Jump-n-Jive" in Amarillo. Its the coolest place...a huge building w/inflatables....kids literally bouncing off the walls. LOL.

We had our wonderful family show up with my cousins kids and aunt. Didn't seem like we got to visit much but you know w/family that is okay, because you can pick up where you left off at last time you were together as a family. I can't get over how much all the kiddos have grown! We had an awesome time and would like to share that with you with these pictures:

Jantz was a very sick boy that day; that is about all he did then he was under the table w/a pillow and blanket asleep. Poor baby!

Kids getting ready for the cake: Thanks Holly! It was very delicious and awesome; lots of compliments.

Birthday Girl! Always smiling... she woke up that morning, first words: "Mom,am I five?" My reply: Yes you are! She starts singing: I'm five, I'm five, I'm five, Oh yes I'm five!

Present time!!! Make-up; dress-up Jewelry; Games!

Cora checking out her DS lite...

Ms Kate getting her face painted...beautiful girl & her pink!!!

Cora Lee's turn!!!

Long time Photo's

This past weekend, we purchased a new camera. Due to our old one that we had for 5 yrs. Here is a brief story on our camera's. Bought a Sony once we moved to San Antonio...left in a shopping cart at Sam's. (Both our faults.) 2nd one...right before Cora was born, 2nd Sony...mother & I went to visit family; never saw the camera again. Either I left it at the family's house or two, I left it on top of the car and drove off. (My fault) 3rd camera: just recently died on us. I pick it up to take w/us yesterday to Cora's party....dead. Thinking to myself, can't be its been charging for a week!!! So I leave it. Get in the car, driving along, Botos said to me, "U know what you forgot?" I replied, "Yep the Camera...dead." He starts grinning. Ummm ok. He confesses that he dropped it the other day at the field. GREAT!! Cora's 5th birthday party & no camera. Thank goodness for nanna (Mother-n-law!) So in remembrance of our last camera...here are some pics it took:

T-Ball Practice

Cora had her first practice. She had a great time. She got to field the ball, throw it and bat. In her mind, Monday was practice and then on Tuesday her coach was going to take her to their game on the bus. I guess one positive thing is she has learned her days of the week or at least game days! LOL.

It was nice to sit and watch her play and have fun. During her practice, Jantz on other hand could not understand why he couldn't play yet! So he & Daddy decided to play catch, well that lasted one throw, yes Botos tossed the ball and Jantz missed. The ball went over the top of his glove and BAM busted lip!!! So playing catch w/Daddy didn't last long.

Practice ended and so Cora got in the car and here is our conversation:
Me: Did you have fun?
Cora: NO! Its not fair.
Me: What's not fair?
Cora: I don't want to play anymore.
Me: why not?
Cora: We don't have positions, where we are supposed to be, nor do we know where to field the ball! We don't have the dirt like Daddy's field. Our field is all grass and nasty looking!!
Me: You know who to talk to don't you?
Cora: no who?
Me: Your Daddy!!!

So we make it home that evening, and I looked at Cora and asked her if she had something to ask her Daddy? Of course she had forgotten. So after a few hints she "members-re". Same story as above. Big Daddy's response: When you get better? u get to play on better fields? Cora: Oh,,,ok. Needless to say she hasn't hit a t-ball practice since then plus she has CRIED at every practice!!! urrrggghhh...

Easter Weekend

Had a wonderful Easter Weekend. Friday had school 1/2 day, was a great day...got home, took a nap, got up did nothing. Loved it!!! Got up Saturday morning and headed to Tulia. Attended the Bobcat baseball game: man, those Bobcats can battle and it was a great game. Super proud of the boys. Cora & Jantz played the entire time, but no homemade mud was made this year! lol. After the game, we headed over to my brother's house. The kids played so hard. The weather turned out to be great, little chilly that morning but turned out to be a beautiful day. While I at my brothers, I walked w/the kids plus Luke down to the little park close by their house and watched the kids throw bouncy balls up the slide. Luke got the biggest kick out of that. Then the color of their cheeks started to tell me that it was time to head back home. So we did. Got inside and the Men's final four games begin, so we had supper and hung out in the AC for awhile. We had a great time. Then it was getting late so the kids & I loaded up and headed home. Jantz didn't make it to the City Limit sign, he was OUT!! But miss Thing, she talked to me all the way home!!! Imagine that...

Sunday rolled around and we made it thru church!!! Yes, so excited about that, may not have heard one word of the sermon but we made it through. AFter church, headed over to Nanna's (Botos' mom). Kids hunted eggs and then Cora through a fit. So we went home had a talk and then she got to go back over and play. Love Love my neighborhood!!! I know my kids are only 3 &4, but they rode their bikes back & forth to Nanna's, our house, & to my parents. next thing I knew, there were 7-8 kids all riding bikes all over the neighborhood. Its a safe neighborhood and everyone watches out for each other.

Then about 3, I had four little kiddos show up all of the wet!!! So I took them out back and hooked up a water hose to the slide and placed a kiddy pool underneath the end of the slide and the kids had a blast... "Redneck Waterpark!" Next thing we did was place a water sprinkler under neath the trampoline. Kids had so much, but I had fun sitting there watching them giggling, falling, and getting Sun burnt!!! oh-no. Yes...they all got burnt, especially red (Aaron). Yes, he is a little sore today. Speaking of Aaron... he reached his 100 POINTS of AR this past weekend!!! Super duper proud of him...he has worked his butt off.

After playing in the water-park, we headed over to my parents for a awesome dinner. Afterwards, the kids & I headed to Wal-Mart so they could spend their allowances. Big deal for them. Cora got nails...Jantz got train carts for his Thomas the Train set. While we were checking out, Cora paid and got change back. No big deal. Well Jantz went to pay for his and he went over!!! So she did give him any change back. He kept telling the lady,"Give me my change!" I had to tell him he went over, anyways, he could quit grasp that he didn't get to get change back. LOL... They also got new shoes. Man, how their feet have grown!!! Jantz got home, put on his spider-man shorts, to go along w/His spider-man shoes!!! He could run so fast and stop on a dime. Cracking me up!!! Cora on the other hand, got on her clothes and shoes and then they were racing and then seeing who could stop first!!! lol until they messed up the cable to the TV and big Daddy Botos stepped in said NO MORE!!! lol

Finally after all the running and baths, those two kids crashed so fast & hard. LOL... love those kids to death. Cora starts T-ball practice today, she is so excited!!!! I am too, but then again Jatnz can't quite understand that he doesn't get to play just yet!!! Oh lord help me...

Until next time...Mammabotos

Patchwork

Boy it has been awhile, so much has happened let me catch you up to date. I recently changed my background to a patchwork theme. The reason for this is that a quilt made up of patchwork tends to tell a story. A story about someones life, history, however usually a meaning. I have two quilts w/Cora's Birthday on it as well as one of our Wedding date. Now to me there are two very special dates that happened to me in my life time and were given to me by a special friend during my lifetime.

Now, so much has happened in my life and I would like to share a few of those things.

First patch: My parents. They are the most awesome parents a child could have. As I am finding out being a parent is tough, I can't imagine how my parents did it w/4 kids and work full time! There are ups & downs- which they have experienced a down. My Dad was let go of West Texas Gas (Propane); Mom had to change locations and open up her own beauty salon (TANGLES- love the name). Now of course we thought it was the end of the world but my parents being the awesome people they are, simply looked at the positive side of these changes and moved on and guess what? They haven't even skipped a beat!!! Mom got her own place, Dad got on w/Quanah Gas & Oil. So changes might be tough and something u made not ask for but there is a reason for it.

Second patch: Botos. WOW... an amazing man. He loves me, his kids, his family (mom, brother), his job, his players, his life! He is such a go-getter, when he has a plan or idea to get something done, there is no waiting...it gets done right then and there. Very goal-oriented. An awesome role-model!!! Not only is he a father to his own kids but to his players, u talk about amazing!!! I love this man and I know he is loved by many others. Botos-I am glad that we are able to make our own quilt w/our own patches; which someday if ever quilted it will be a HUGE QUILT!!!!

Third Patch: Cora & Jantz. Little turds but the joy of my life! Cora Lee is so dramatic, a Valley girl (according to Aunt BB). She reminds me so much of my mother, Lori, & Botos' grandmother "Tillie". Very out spoken, into make-up, fashion!!! Got a little bit of Doris (my grandmother) very into big flashy bling jewelry. LOL. Jantz on the other hand is a mini-me version of Botos!! Very competitive, independent, a smart kid. He is ALL boy, trucks, dinosaurs, Thomas the Train, he loves DIRT!!! he loves to play play. I do have my hands full w/these two which is great for me. which leads me to my next patch.

Fourth Patch: Coaching. Now Botos & I both coach, I don't know how to do anything else. Its very time consuming, stressful...not so much, I am pretty laid back. I love working w/kids and being to able to teach them something and then see them use it in a game!!! Love to see improvement, the desire, dedication put into something and be successful. Now as a couple coaching, constantly going going going. I have decided not to coach anymore. Did I quit? NO, I am not a quitter and wouldn't quit on the girls in the middle of year; or quit on a coach in the middle of season. There were differences; me not coaching was something that was going to take place next year; not in the middle of the school. That decision was made from higher up. So now my duty consist of Full time PE teacher at Elementary & driving a bus route. Which I can make more $$$ and be home earlier. At this point in my life, I need to be w/my kids. Cora starts Kindergarten next year. Can't believe it! but yes this is something I wanted not this soon in the middle of a school year or a sport's season. While being a coach, I have made tons and tons of friendships w/other coaches, players, & families. That this patch could make its own quilt in its self!!! Basketball has always been a part of my life, little dribblers, JH, HS, Summer leagues, College. I appreciate all the questions & concerns but it is time I focus on my kids and I can still be a role model for my players by showing support in the stands or that I am being a MOM-a huge job itself!!! But coaching will always be there and someday I will be back coaching.

Fifth Patch: Brother & Sister. If walls could talk in our house or my parents house, oh my! My brother Josh, what a wonderful guy, always thinking of others & putting them first. He is a Dr. of Pharmacy....legal drug dealer...lol. He has a beautiful family. His two wonderful little boys are so stink'n cute. Bless Christina...she is the only girl in her family and so far still is. But someday there will be a little angel come their way. Josh reminds me so of my Dad its not even funny. Now too my sisters: Shannon-has blessed us w/two beautiful children that my parents have taken in. Another hard thing to do after you have raised your own 4 and then start over. But w/my two it makes it fun and never a dull moment. Now....BB aka Lori. She is a mess, funny, crazy, loud, always smiling, having fun! She make me laugh on a drop of dime. She is my twin...except for one area and I think we can all figure that part out!!! She is my best friend... a great aunt for my kids... a great story teller!!! LOL... Life w/out Lori equals boredom.

I know there are many other patches to talk about but they will all come about soon. I know we all have a quilt that was given to us or made by a family member that has meaning. I challenge you this summer to make a quilt of your family. Let your kids help out and pick out something to put in the quilt. The patch can remind you of a good time, bad time, or even an article of clothing of someone special in your life that you recently loss. That way when the quilt is done you can look at each patch and tell the story of that patch. It will be your Family HiSTORY!!!

Have a great Easter and weekend!!!!

Until next time... Mamabotos

March 11, 2010

Well I just returned from Austin, Girls State Basketball Tournament. I went to watch the teams that did make and of course, to see ALL my coaching buddies. This year's trip was a Sister trip: Sarah & Amanda; Myself & Lori. OMG I don't think there was a dull moment unless we were sleeping... we went to bed laughing and woke up laughing.

Of course you can't put 4 women together and not expect any shopping to get done! So I wanted to see what Harry Hines Blvd. & Shopper's Alley was all about. WE only made it to Sam Moon's and the stores around it. OMG!!! So much stuff and not enough time. But honestly I didn't really find any good deals... I guess I need to go w/an experience shopper for all that stuff. I did find Cora Lee some hair bows, dress shoes, but that is about it. Purse's Galore!!! What I did find were some luggage, really cute luggage sets all three or four pieces under $100!!!! to me that is not bad.

But I have a chance to go back this weekend. Lori's roomie, Delauren is getting married and I am taking Miss Thing (Cora), as well as my parents & Seester Lori.

Now back to the Austin Trip. So Thursday we watch Basketball ALL day... so much fun and a lot of good games!!! One thing Sarah told Lori was, "Take a good look at your sister, cause once she starts talking to all her buddies, we won't see her again until bed time!" LOL... which is true, I have never met a stranger. As a matter of fact I did end up staying at the "Hang out" place to visit w/all my pals while all of the sisters when back to the games!!! lol.

This was an awesome trip, w/all sisters, especially w/mine!!! I love Lori/BB to death.

Botos' baseball season is underway and things going great!!! The field looks awesome, he has worked is butt of on that thing!!! Babe I am very proud of you and your season will be an awesome season.

Spring break is just right around the corner and I can't wait. i think the kids are ready too, they both woke up this morning not wanting to go but once I told them we all next week they were pretty excited. Not any big plans over the break, does a to do list count? I have plans to get my husband's "Man Room" cleaned out and decorated. Don't worry I will take before and after pictures.

Track Meet tomorrow, Big Wedding Saturday and project "Man Room". Not too bad of a schedule.
